BRUNO MOZZONE

1921-2003

As the family discussed the impact Bruno had on the greater Taunton Community, as a home-builder for over three decades, a banker, community organizations.... He had a quiet strength that would not be denied, and he was relentless in following his dreams.
...his widow summed it up so clearly, with one sentance of love, praise, and admiration....

"Bruno Was A Giant."

Mr. Mozzone passed away on Friday, 24 Jaunary 2003, surrounded by his loving family while a resident of the Island Terrace Nursing home in Lakeville Massachusetts.

SELF-MADE MAN:

Bruno Mozzone was a self made man. He was relentless from his childhood to strive and succeed. He held two Taunton Daily Gazette paper routes as a youngster, ran his own oil delivery business before and after high school. After graduating from THS in 1941, he worked to rebuild a logging business into a lumber retail facility, which he then developed into a new home construction business, industrial land development, and real estate business.

He never hesitated to perform great acts of charity, and was active in countless organizations in the greater Taunton area.

In the words of his widow, Mrs. Jean Mozzone, "BRUNO WAS A GIANT!"

Bruno Mozzone with Jean Mozzone, married over 50 years, their life is a testimony to the endurance of the human spirit.

Shown in the background is Bruno's 1925 Model "T" Ford "Lizzy".... "That was his baby!", said friend, Ed Perry, upon learning of Bruno's passing and asking as to Lizzy's where-abouts.... "Lizzy Cried when Bruno Died,", explained son, Pete Mozzone who now stores the car in his garage, "The morning after my father died, I went out to check on Lizzy, and she must have cried, because she had lost half of her antifreeze on the garage floor during the night."
